The Heart Behind the Project: Meet the founder
Hi, I’m Sree Allampally. My commitment to medicine began the year my brother was diagnosed with leukemia. Watching him go through treatment changed everything for me and sparked my definite goal to become a pediatric oncologist. I am going to spend my life treating children who are fighting the exact same battle my brother faced.
To learn how to care for patients on a truly personal level, I earned my license and started working as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) at 16. Handling eight-hour shifts, checking vital signs, and managing daily care showed me the reality of healthcare. I learned that medical treatment is only half the battle, because patients also need real human empathy to get through their hardest days.
I started The Shared Space Project to provide that exact balance of support. This platform serves as a resource where families can access clear, reliable informational articles about navigating cancer, while also finding a dedicated community to read and share the raw human experiences that medical charts never show. Welcome to our community.
